Hammer House of Holiday Horrors

Monday.

The first day of seven weeks holiday.

Happy playing and laughter starts the day.

I make coffee and sigh contentedly.
Plan to make pancakes for my beautiful girls breakfast.

Moments later there's a bloodcurdling scream and my heart sinks.

A Sylvanian duck has made contact with a little forehead and all hell lets loose.

The first day of seven weeks holiday.

  8. Yes that sounds about right. In my house it is not the duck but another of my offspring causing pain.
This is why they invented alcohol. Happy G AND T ing!

  9. Oh gosh, lets hope this is as chaotic as it's going to get! I imagine the cry to be the result of an argument? I bet it's tempting to put some ear plugs in? Well, at least you know you can come to all of us for a good, cleansing moan, and we'll all be very sympathetic!
Love Vanessa xxx (do you mind if i knit)

  12. I remember those days, too. The teen years are by far the worse, though.

Janet and John books - we were taught how to read at my Infant school back in 1965 with these books. I remember the little kitten was called Fluff! Great times.

  13. Hee Hee sounds like my 1st day!!
I even said ' it's the first day of the holidays, and i already want to throttle you!!' to my eldest. It did have a bit of a jokey element to it, before you think i'm an evil mother!! xx

  16. Ah the start of the long summer holidays; it's been many years since I was one of two little girls scattering a trail of lego, Swallows & Amazons books and very tiny bits of cross stitch all the way around the house but I remember it well, and with just a touch of envy as I head back to work after a mere two weeks long summer holiday! I'm loving reading about your exploits and I hope the Sylvanian bunny has survived his ordeal :)

  17. How is the duck?
Hang in there. We'll send them up to the den with provisions tomorrow and ask them not to come back until tea time! t.x

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I read all of them and really appreciate you taking the time to say hello.
I always try to get back and reply, but sometimes this may take a bit longer as pets and children always seem to need attention around here.
